eEducation
The current shift of education to online is inevitable and it is a good sign for all of us who hope to benefit more from technology. By this, I am referring to individuals who are embarking on a learning journey on their own as an entreprenuer.
In order for us to really reap the full benefit of online education, we must make sure that we are prepared or else we will see ourselves overwhelmed by the tons of information online. These are few areas identified that may help us in our e-learning:
1. Technical Requirements
This is quite straight forward. Anybody without a gun is not ready to go to the warfront, likewise, anyone who does not have a reasonable good computer and a high speed connection are actually stretching your patience more than your brain. I suggest a P4 computer and a broadband in this case. Dual up is definetly out.
2. Organisation
Proper filing of related content is a must for anyone engaging e-learning. Proper organisation includes files and folders online and offline. Get a good backup storage and spend time organising your files into their proper place where you can find them later. Software, passwords, administration, , misc folders are some of the examples.
3. Stay Focus
As simple as it may sounds, ability to focus is one area that a lot of people are lacking. This is especially when we have msn, friendster to interrupt us most of the time. Online discipline has to be developed so that we do not think that we have spend hours on the net gathering information when we actually wasted most of the hours surfing the net or chatting away.
4. Have Enough Rest
Rest is important. Many people get hook to the net for hours and sacrifice their sleep so that they can work longer. Do know that you can be addicted to the net too. Have a proper time table for yourself so that you do not get too involved in the net. Information gathered has to be processed to be able to be applied. Anthony Robbins said this:"Knowledge is NOT power, Applied Knowledge is!"
Start preparing yourself today. You may well be able to advice your friends or family members on the experience of eeducation.
